He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilhelmina Merrell and Raymond Merrell; his son David; and his siblings, Harold Merrell, Nelson Merrell, Ruth Sigafoos and Margie Rockafellow.
He is survived by: his wife Esther M. Wilson; his son Raymond Merrell (Mary Ann) of Allamuchy, NJ; his daughter-in-law Marita Merrell of Gaithersburg, MD; his grandchildren, Maya Merrell, Jessica O'Hearn, Jillian DiIonno, Justin Merrell and Kevin Merrell; and his great grandchildren, Rose, Molly O'Hearn and Olivia DiIonno.
