He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma and Walt Ahlers Sr.; and his sisters, Shirley Kearney, Lois Flatt and Suzy Ahlers.
He is survived by: his children, Walter Paul Ill (Buddy) and Nancy Ahlers Christian; his wife Lois Ahlers; his grandchildren, Vika Christian and Timothy Ahlers; and his siblings, Patricia Baer, Gloria Bickel and Steve Flatt.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Shriners Children Hospital or Budd Lake Rescue Squad.
