With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dale Lauretta Salomone of Flanders, New Jersey, who passed away on August 12, 2023 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Elizabeth Cody (Bishop) and Paul V. Cody; and her brother Colin Foley. She is survived by : her husband Gerald; her children, Carson Remig (Ted) and David (Tara); her grandchildren, William Remig (Stephanie), Sarah Remig, Jerry Remig, Maleah Salomone and Michael Salomone; and her brothers, Robin Cody and Mathew Foley.

“Having belatedly just heard the news of Dale's passing I am deeply saddened. A bright light for many of us has winked out. While we lost track of each other, for many years Dale's presence at Hopatcong High School was simply a gift to me. Dale was approachable, encouraging, kind, and completely connected to kids. Her support and acceptance of me as a novice teacher made all the difference. And, her laughter could lighten the darkest of moods. Her absence leaves an unfillable void.”

“Mrs. Salomone was a very present joy at the High School. I was in the class of 1974. I never was fortunate enough to be in one of the classes she taught, but Mrs. Salomone knew who I was and was very supportive. I did not have to be in the class with an educator like Mrs. Salomone to learn that life is to celebrate, learn from and serve others. She demonstrated a passion for existence, which is an important motivation, to this day.”
