We are sad to announce that on January 10, 2025, at the age of 80, Mellissa DeLorenzo (Fairfield, New Jersey), born in Newark, New Jersey passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her siblings, John, Fred, William, Marjorie and Alice.

She is survived by: her husband Tony DeLorenzo; her children, Melissa Pietras (Tony) and John DeLorenzo; and her grandchildren, Michael Weekes and Sarah Pietras. She is also survived by her family, friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stellato Funeral Home (7 2 Bridges Rd, Fairfield, NJ 07004). A Mass was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church (219 Bloomfield Ave, Caldwell, NJ 07006). A committal service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Glendale Cemetery (28 Hoover Ave, Bloomfield, NJ 07003).

“Carol was one of the best and most creative teachers that I had the pleasure of working with at Alma Flagg, When ever you entered her classroom you could never leave without her students singing a song from the 40"s, reciting a poem, telling you what they were studying and explain anything in the room. Her students were just as enthusiastic as she was. If you were one of her students you were given the best foundation for the love of learning. She will be missed. Rita Messing”
