It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martin Dekker of Fairfield, New Jersey, born in Paterson, New Jersey, who passed away on December 18, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Dekker and Catherine Dekker (Hoogmoed); his stepmother Nellie Hook; and his sisters, Nellie Baum and Johanna Vander Weile.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Dekker (Post); his children, Edward M. Dekker (Terri) and Caryn R. (Richard Van Sweden); and his grandchildren, Jessica Van Sweden, Kyle Van Sweden, Ryan E. Dekker and Abigail L. Dekker.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home (567 Ratzer Rd, Wayne, NJ 07470). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
