It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elaine F. Middleton of Fairfield, New Jersey, born in Bridgeton, New Jersey, who passed away on September 17, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Elaine had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Elaine may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Newlin J. Pettit and Mertie H. Messick Pettit; her husband George Middleton; and her siblings, Newlin "John" Pettit Jr., Albert Pettit, Aaron "Ernie" Pettit and Mary Linda Hitchner.
She is survived by: her sister Patsy Morris (Bruce) of Millville; her niece Debbie; and her nephew Richard Pettit. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 26th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Fairfield Presbyterian Church (53 E Main St, Alloway, NJ 08001). A memorial service was held on Thursday, September 26th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. The inurnment was held on Thursday, September 26th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the Cedar Hill Cemetery (3500 Cedarville Rd, Cedarville, NJ 08311).
