He was predeceased by: his parents, Pasquale Scarpino and Grace Scarpino. He is survived by: his wife Elisa Scarpino; his children, Elyse Scarpino and Grace (Marty Keating); his siblings, Robert (Jan Scarpino) and Patricia (Billy Freda); and his sister-in-law Anna Marie Cesario. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces & great nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Calendar Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home - Fairfield (2 Bridges Rd, Fairfield, NJ 07004). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mount Carmel RC Church (75 Ridgedale Ave, Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927). An entombment was held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 11:45 AM.

He served as president of the Hanover Township Board of Education and the Hanover Township Education Foundation where he demonstrated his commitment to education and the development of youth in his community.
