He was predeceased by: his mother Esther Davila. He is survived by: his wife Janis Schwadron-Diaz; his sister Mildred Diaz; his daughter Adrian-Marie Diaz; his niece Nilsa Betancourt Eppolito (Debbie); his nephews, Jose "Joey" Betancourt Jr. (Jasmin) and Jonathan Arroyo (Michelle Cardona); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Alijah Betancourt Makuta (Chris), Nisa Betancourt, Aidan Betancourt, Nathaniel Betancourt, Zoë Betancourt and Jacob Eppolito.
