He was predeceased by: his spouse Jean Romano. He is survived by: his son Anthony R. Romano; his daughter-in-law Ana M Romano; his grandchildren, Anthony J. Romano (Danielle), Christopher A. Romano (Danielle) and Angelica K. Romano; and his great grandchildren, Adriana and Peyton Romano.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Joseph F. Romano's name to Fair Lawn Access For All (an organization for adults with different abilities) c/o Fair Lawn Parks Department, c/o Bob Young, 8-01 Fair Lawn Avenue, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410.
