He was predeceased by: his spouse Doris Kreil. He is survived by: his children, Donald Kreil, Diane Kreil, Sonja Stokes, Jack Stokes, Rebecca Kobuskie, Gregg Kobuskie, Naomi Ritchie, Ed Ritchie, Ben Kreil, Jen Kreil, Rachel Pinto, Joe De Pinto, Nathaniel Kreil, Isaac Kreil and Hannah Kreil; and his brothers, Allan Kreil and Robert Kreil.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post 199, 1 Legion Place, Hawthorne, NJ 07506.
