He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Friedman and Janet Friedman; his son Eric Friedman; and his brother Richard Friedman. He is survived by: his significant other Marilyn Nelson; his brother Robert Friedman; his sister-in-law Adele of Los Angeles; his son Jeffrey Friedman; his daughter-in-law Kathy Lee of Berkeley, California; his son Steven Friedman; his daughters-in-law, Heath of Lawrenceville, NJ and Amy Gutmann of Seattle, Washington; and his grandchildren, Kelly (Dan Buyanovsky), Margot, Ally, Ben, Lily, Julia and Louisa Friedman.
