He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph T. Mawhinney, Sr. and Barbara Mawhinney. He is survived by: his wife Susan Mawhinney; his children, Brian Mawhinney (Christina) and Heather Mawhinney (James); his grandson Cameron Mawhinney; and his brothers, Steven Mawhinney (Amy) and Daniel Mawhinney (Maureen). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
