He was predeceased by: his parents, Lionel Thompson and Isabella Thompson; and his brother Richard Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Connie; his children, Robert W. Jr. (Tracy), Thomas (Terese) and Jeanette LaGates; his grandchildren, Melissa, Thomas, Matthew, Zackery, Rebecca, Abigail, Crystal, Jennifer and Cody; and his sisters, Lorraine Kelly and Isabella Hill. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
