He was predeceased by: his parents, Stuart Moine Mercer and Helen Mercer (Aiken); and his siblings, Jack Mercer, Paul Mercer, Frank Mercer and Mary Ralano.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Mercer (Kenna); his children, Kenna Seiler (Michael Seiler), Kell Corrigan Mercer (Kathryn Mercer) and Jude-Anna Sadlier (Andreas Sadlier); his grandchildren, Ethan Louis Seiler, Rachael Elizabeth Seiler, William Stuart Mercer, II, Caroline Malone Mercer, Mercer Alexander Sadlier, Wiley Green Sadlier, Corrigan Boyd Sadlier and Quinn-Cara Laurel Sadlier; and his sister Elizabeth Hovious. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
