He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Josephine; his parents, Delawar Hossain and Meher Hossain; his siblings, Yasmine (late K. Z. Mahmud) and Nasreen (Sajjadul Islam); his children, Namira (Misha Ali), Santini and Gianna; and his stepchildren, Danial Rizvi, Sabrina (Thomas Loughney), Amy (Kenneth Widmer) and Jeffrey (Alicia Rizvi). He was also cherished by grandfather to his 9 grandchildren.
