He was predeceased by: his parents, Pierre Jean Batiste and Iznara Israel; and his children, Jean Bertin and Murat Israel. He is survived by: his wife Marie Israel; his children, Nick Israel, Magloire Israel, Reynald Israel and Tata Israel; his adoptive children, Daniel Estinfort, Paul Estinfort, Choupette Medeus and Ketly Estinfort; his granddaughters, Samantha and Nicole Israel; and his siblings, Guy, Able Jean-Baptist and Huge Auguste.
