With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John W. Burke in Englewood, New Jersey, born in Staten Island, New York, who passed away on December 13, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Claire M. Burke; his parents, Alice Burke and John Burke; his sisters, Marie Murphy and Alice Schneider; his children, Mariclaire Burke of Weehawken, NJ, John Burke of Montclair, NJ and Kathleen Burke of Austin, TX; his children-in-law, Aboubaker Sadouki, Jennifer Burke and Bernard Grzelak; and his pets, Harper, Cash, Willow (Burke-Grzelak) and Bo (Burke).
He is survived by: his siblings, Kathleen Affinito and Lawrence Burke; and his sister-in-law Alberta Vickery (Florida). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is humbly directing any contributions in Jack's memory to The New York Public Library or in support of the St. Francis Breadline.
