He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Suzanne Theresa Oates; his children, Colleen Merkel (Ronald Jr.), James Francis Oates, Jr. (Jean), Kerry Butkera (Gary) and Tara Oates; his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Aidan, James, Kayla, Sean Patrick, Hunter and Tyler; and his great grandchild Hudson.
