He was predeceased by: his son Melvin Marrero. He is survived by: his wife Awilda Marrero; his daughters, Migna Marrero, Mireya Pauwels and Awilda Marrero; his grandchildren, Orlando Hurtado, Kayla Pauwels, Marisela Hurtado, Selina Pauwels, William Pauwels III, Amanda Pauwels and Daniel Pauwels; and his great grandchildren, Mia Pauwels, Camila Hurtado and Liliana Pauwels. He is also survived by 4 sisters, 1 brother, and 2 sons-in-law.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home (139 Westfield Ave, Elizabeth, NJ 07208). A Mass was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM at the Blessed Sacrament R. C. Church (747 Madison Ave, Elizabeth, NJ 07201). A burial was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Evergreen Cemetery (1137 N Broad St, Hillside, NJ 07205).
