He was predeceased by: his son Jorge Manuel Silvestre. He is survived by: his wife Maria Francelina; his children, Virgilio Silvestre (late Toni Ann), Maria Manuela Santos (late Delfim) of Rahway and Gracinda Almeida (Joaquim Fernando) of Linden; his siblings, Maria Santos (Adelino) of Toms River, Gracinda Silva (late Manuel DaSilva) of Portugal, Rosalina Gonzalez (Roberto) of Elizabeth and Antonio Silvestre (Maria) of Manalapan; and his grandchildren, Linda Rivera (Damian), Tina Velez (Destino), Anthony Almeida, Andrew Silvestre (Jennifer), Michael Silvestre, Alex Almeida and Jo-Ann Silvestre. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home (139 Westfield Ave, Elizabeth, NJ 07208). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 8:15 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Fatima R. C. Church (403 Spring St, Elizabeth, NJ 07201). A burial was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Gertrude Cemetery (53 Inman Ave, Colonia, NJ 07067).
