He was predeceased by: his parents, Susan Sweeny (Drake) and Thomas E. Sweeny III. He is survived by: his sister Gail Weston (Sweeny); his daughter Cori E. Coane (Sweeny); his husband Fred; his sons, Thomas E. Sweeny IV and James M. Sweeny (Jennifer); and his grandchildren, Thomas E. Sweeny, Scott Breder and Julia Sweeny.
