He was predeceased by: his son Matthew J. Tuthill; his grandson Matthew R. Tuthill; and his siblings, Walter R. Tuthill Sr., George M. Tuthill and Marie Baker.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Tuthill (Kilcher); his son Richard M. Tuthill (Angela); his granddaughters, Lily and Joy; his son Timothy R. Tuthill; and his sister Anna Eble (Tom). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marine Toys for Tots program in his name.
