With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John R. Birtwistle of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 2, 2022 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Ellen; his granddaughter Lizzy Gilson; and his sister Ellen Sharpe. He is survived by: his wife Betty Ann; his daughters, Penny Gilson (Joe), Chrissy Gilmer (Mark) and Katie Horner (Evan); his sister Peggy Moore; his grandchildren, Emily Gilmer, Emma Horner, John Horner, Jack Gilmer, Evan Horner Jr., Joe Gilson, Sarah Silveira and Shane Gilson; his siblings-in-law, Bern and Fred Caspar; and his nieces and nephews, Fred, Mike, Tom, David, Denise, Nancy, Billy, Shawn, Lynn, Sandy and Bob.
