He was predeceased by: his grandson Gordon Williard Ritter; and his sisters, Gwendolyn Schwarz and Ruth Stoner. He is survived by: his daughter Dr. Dawn E. Ritter (Mark Heyman); his grandchildren, Erin Heyman and Evan Heyman; his daughter Susan S. Speirs (Jeffrey Speirs); his granddaughter Valerie Speirs; his children, Julia M. Ritter (Jorge Barrientos) and Matthew D. Ritter; and his grandchildren, Kristin Ritter and Douglas Ritter. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
