She was predeceased by: her parents, Millard Filmore Paulus and Hazel Theresa May Paulus; her husband Melvin Dougherty (Doc); her son Howard Patterson; her brothers, Lou and Millard Paulus; her grandson-in-law Draper Ellis; and her great grandchild Alder Patterson.

She is survived by: her children, Shirley Newkirk, Karen Champion (Ed), Tink, Hampton Patterson (Sue) and Wayne Patterson (Theresa); her grandchildren, Thresa Strickland (Lee), Mary Ellis, JoMarie Davis (Don), Eric Patterson (Brooke), Kyle Patterson, Howard Newkirk, Tommy Patterson (Cheryl), Patty Patterson (Leon), Yvonne Pekora (Joe), Joy Champion, Adam Champion, Leanne Martin, Jenny Armstrong, Tony Gushanas, Chris Dougherty (Mary), Buddy Dougherty (Krista) and Cathy Dougherty; and her sisters-in-law, Leona and Joan Paulus. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many special/life-long friends.
