He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Axelson and Florence Axelson; his wife Terry; and his siblings, Donna and Joe.

He is survived by: his sons, Art and Jason Axelson; his siblings, Ellis, Sandy, Beatrice and Florence; and his stepchildren, Tammy Doernbach and Troy Stokes. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, & nephews.
