He was predeceased by: his wife Lauretta; his parents, Alphonse Hesse and Anna Hesse (Camillo); and his siblings, Joan Haes and Robert.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Jr. (Kim), Larry (Cindy) of Germania, Karen Young (Gary) of Orlando Florida and John (Corinne) of Laureldale; his grandchildren, Christina (Dave), Brittany (Billy), Brandon (Paige), Samantha, Johnny (Erin), Tyler (Amanda) and Kyle (Lauren); his son Jason; his great grandchildren, Shaeley, Olivia, Brady, David and Thomas; his brothers, Ronald and William; and his caregiver Joe.
Richard looked forward to getting together with the "McDonald's Crew" every morning prior to covid.
