With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Clarence Mays Sr. of Egg Harbor City, New Jersey, who passed away on October 21, 2023. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mays and Annie Mae Mays; his wife Eliza Mae Mays; his siblings, Estella Mays, Lizzie Mae Foster, Charlie Prince Mays, Lena Bell Alexander, Charlie "Bubba" Mays and Annie Pearl Smith; and his children, Evelyn Nelson, Sam Travis and Tawanna Lightburn.
He is survived by: his children, Maryann Bennett, Jeannette Emory (Andrew), Levon Spellman, Synomia Corbin, Gwendolyn Parrilla, Juanita Spellman, Clarence Mays, Jr. (Jane), Vincent Mays (Carol), Chris Mays (Patricia), Dwayne Mays (Christine) and Geravia Solomon; his goddaughters, Stacey Cain (Lan) and Katrina Moore; his niece Judy Cunningham; and his goddaughters, Natasha Collier and Lillie Mae Green. He is also survived by 49 grandchildren, 85 great grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations to help with funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated by the Mays family.
