He was loved and cherished by many people including: his grandson van; his father Thomas Doherty; his wife Cynthia Doherty; his mother Jane Doherty; his daughters, Danielle Miyagishima (Chris, Alicia DiPietro), Cassie Doherty (Heath) and Leeann Doherty; his grandson Giovanni DiPietro; and his siblings, William Doherty (Laura, Thomas Doherty), Mary Lochard (Raymond) and JaneAnn Naha (Craig). He was also cherished by his many nieces and nephews, extended family, teamster brothers, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Doc's memory to: St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral in Metuchen, where he was a communicant.
