It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Deaconess Mattie Katherine Harvey-Jones (Edison, New Jersey), born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, who passed away on August 19, 2018, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her child Thelma Maria Jones Leach; her grandchildren, Sean Arthur Jones, Tyeron Martin and Avery Leach; and her siblings, Elizabeth Cannon, Ruby Mae McKenzie, Marie Williams, Charlene McLendon, Thomas "Sonny" and Heyward Harvey.
She is survived by: her children, Darleen Pittman, Arthur Lee Jones, Jr., Mark W. Jones and Duane J. Cannon (Shannon); her siblings, Ruth Fox, Robert Harvey, Joseph Harvey and Valerie Nadir (Habeeb-Ullah); her grandchildren, Darnéa LaPierre (Lawrence), Amber Jones, Tanyell Ratliff (Maurice), Audra Jones, Tamiraque Martin, Khadria Wooten, Tahanee Aviles (Angelo), Tamir Jones, Temia Jones, Erik Ayala, Janae Cannon and Kendyle Cannon; her great grandchildren, TéSean, David, Hasson, Asiya, Madison, Lawren, Rylie, Asiana, Anigh, Taleyah and Jaden; and also Charles Pittman.
