He was predeceased by: his parents, Armenia Johnson and Samuel C Johnson; and his daughter Kim. He is survived by: his wife Diane Johnson; his children, Gary, Jr., Marc, Christopher, Jason, Matthew and Cherri Dickson; and his sister Sarah Williams-O'Neal. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
