He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Ellis and Doma Ellis; his wife Mabel; his daughter Constance; and his brother Calvin Ellis.
He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah Ellis-Wilson (Shaune Wilson) and April Ellis; his grandchildren, Rasheedah Bass, Christopher Holder (Ella Ross) and Vivian Ellis; his great grandchildren, Kailani Cottle and Ian Ross-Holder; his niece Wanda Ellis; and his in-laws, Sam, Eloise Terry and Elbert Green. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
