He is survived by: his wife Patricia Anne Grayson; his children, Edward Lee Reed Jr. (Patricia Anne Reed) and Stacy Darleen Reed-Phelps; his son-in-law Crispus Clopas Phelps; his grandchildren, Brianna Marie Martin, Alicia Christina Martin, Kenneth Reimer and Ta'shean Nasir Paige-Reed; his siblings, Paul Reed and Rebecca Barnes; his brothers-in-law, Raphael Barnes and Burnett Curtis Grayson Jr.; his nieces and nephews, Burnett C. Grayson III, Brian C. Grayson, Cynthia Carter, Hussein Brooks (James), Lori Grayson and Dawn R. Reed; his nephew-in-law Marvin Reed; his niece Sabrina Williams-Brooks; and his close friend Pam Battle. He is also survived by great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
