He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Diachek and Helen Diachek (Malkowski); and his sister Dolores H. Diachek (Smith). He is survived by: his nephews, Roger C. Smith and Richard M. Smith; his niece Robin Kay Pfiefer (Smith) of Texas; and his cousins, Lawrence P. Janusz of Bronxville and Ed Cyran of Mahopac.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement Graymoor, 40 Franciscan Way, Garrison, NY 10524.
