He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Ann Hoffman; his children, Barbara (Courtney Miller), James (Kim) and John (Jane); and his grandchildren, Justin, Bethany, Christina, Brian, Juliana, Hannah, Tyler, Alyssa, Mikaela and Sarah. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of East Hanover, or the Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey.
