He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Henry and Julia Smyth; his wife Mary B. Smyth; and his sons, Michael T. Smyth and Patrick J. Smyth.
He is survived by: his children, Robert P. Smyth of East Brunswick, Gerald P. Smyth of East Brunswick and Mary T. Heapes (Fergal) of East Brunswick; and his grandchildren, Liam Heapes, Aidan Heapes, Lorin Simone and Christopher Middleton.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brunswick Memorial (454 Cranbury Rd, East Brunswick, NJ 08816). A prayer will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 9:15 AM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church (100 James St, South River, NJ 08882).
