He is survived by: his wife Maureen Horvath Ahlers; his children, Deborah Ahlers Latham (Todd) of Darien, CT and Scott Robert Ahlers (Stephanie) of Cinnaminson; his sisters, Ilsa J. Schultheis (Joseph) of Massena, NY, Katrin Ahlers and Commander Karolin Ahlers; his grandchildren, Michael Latham, Sarah Latham, Rose Ahlers, Jenna Kirstein and Holly Kirstein; and his nephew Carl Schultheis.
