He was predeceased by: his wife Joanna Chmiel (Gierla); and his siblings, Helen Krupinski (Chmiel), Mary Epper (Chmiel), Patricia Chmiel and Peter Chmiel.
He is survived by: his daughters, Eleanor Schaff (Mark), Karen McKinney (Milburn), Janice Pfuhl (Ronald) and Deborah Chmiel; his grandchildren, Morgan, Mark II, Joanna, Benjamin, Nichole and William; his great grandchild Isabella; and his siblings, Edward, Thadeus and Madeleine. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
