We are sad to announce that on September 1, 2023, at the age of 85, Rita M. Hegarty of Dumont, New Jersey passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Patrick J. Hegarty; and her brother Walter. She is survived by: her children, Patrick, Kevin (Susan) of Wayne, NJ, Kathleen Velazquez (Leo) of Venice, FL and Mary Ellen Breun (Chris) of Dumont, NJ.; her grandchildren, Jason, Kelliann Velazquez, Eric, Shannon, Tyler Breun and Maura Hegarty; her great grandchildren, Madeline and Jordan; and her daughter Rita. She is also survived by grandparents' farm with their aunts.

Memorial donations in Rita's memory may be made to St. Mary's RC Church, 280 Washington Avenue, Dumont, NJ 07628.
