He was predeceased by: his grandsons, Joseph and Sean O'Dea; his brothers, Michael, Patrick and Christopher O'Dea; and his niece Mary Culligan.
He is survived by: his wife Mary B. O'Dea; his children, Patrick (Becky), Kevin (Robin), Caroline Vianden (Brian) and Joseph (Laura); his grandchildren, Kylie Vianden-Reaman (Kyle), Kerianne Vianden, Brian Vianden Jr., Shane, Ryan, Patrick and Colin O'Dea; his great grandchild Braelyn Clare Reaman; his siblings, Martin O'Dea (Mary), Mae Burke, Margaret Bohannon (Mick) and Teresa Brown; and his siblings-in-law, Tom, Ann Murray, John, Kitty McMahon, Nora Madden, Bridie Mahoney and Patrick McMahon.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Joseph's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Memphis, TN.
