He was predeceased by: his mother Elizabeth Bernardo. He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Kevin, David (Lisa) and Ryan Bernardo; his siblings, Betty Remmig and Lawrence Bernardo; and his grandchildren, Ashley, Alex and Austin.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's name to the Dumont Volunteer Ambulance Corps or E.T. Marlatt Chapter of the National Honor Society at Hackensack High School donations can be sent to HHS First and Beech Streets Hackensack, NJ 07601, c/o Mr. Joseph Brunacki.
