He is survived by: his significant other Helen Nerod of Rockport Texas; his sister Bridie Aubel of California; his children, Michael Gillen of Utah, Edward Gillen (Josephine Downer-Gillen) of Texas and Terry Sanchez of Colorado; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Alejandro, Angelina, Chedayne and Jadyn; his great grandchildren, Vivian and Mateo; and his parents, Millie and Michael.

Donations may be made to Austin Hospice.
