He was predeceased by: his parents, James Pells and Helen Pells; and his grandson Christopher James Pells. He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his sons, Robert Jr. (Linda) and Christopher Scott; his grandchildren, Anna Catherine and Aiden Scott; his brother James; and his sister-in-law Linda.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Cranford Dramatic Club, at 78 Winans Ave, Cranford, NJ 07016.
