He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his children, Joseph J. Colangelo, Sarah W. Colangelo (Cranford), Kevin M. Klein, Natalie Visconsi (Morristown), Julia C. Colangelo and Christopher Thee (New York City); his grandchildren, James Colangelo, Evelyn Colangelo, Margaret Colangelo, Caroline Colangelo, Theodore Colangelo and Angela Thee; his sister Rebecca Russell; his brother-in-law Scott Russell; and also, Laurel, Tim Hamilton, Ryan and Logan Hamilton.

The viewing will take place on Wednesday August 5 at Dooley's Funeral Home, 218 North Ave., Cranford from 5:00pm-8:00pm. (Due to COVID 19 restrictions, there are limits to how many people can be in the building at the same time. Facemasks are required and social distancing will be observed.). Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:15AM at St. Helen's Roman Catholic Church, 1600 Rahway Ave, Westfield on Thursday, August 6 (Due to COVID 19 restrictions, there are limits to how many people can be in the building at the same time. Facemasks are required and social distancing will be observed.), followed by an internment at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
