She was predeceased by: her parents, Garret Docherty and Thelma Docherty (Berk); her husband Ernest R. Hand, Sr.; her daughter Cathy VanderVeer; her son-in-law William VanderVeer; her siblings, Garret "Bud" Docherty, Donald Docherty (Virginia), Mary Ann Jacobus (Richard) and Thelma Taylor (Harry); and her grandson-in-law William "Billy" Huston, Jr. (Jane).
She is survived by: her children, Linda Protinick (Michael W.) and Ernest R. Hand, Jr. (Kathleen); her grandchildren, Jennifer Huston, Catherine Jantos (Neil), Heather Protinick, Michael W. Protinick, Jr., Bill VanderVeer (Bernadette), Joey VanderVeer (April), Derrick Hand, Ashley Hand and Garrett Hand; her great grandchildren, Enzo Jantos, Logan Smith, Billy VanderVeer, Kalli VanderVeer, Liam VanderVeer, Oliver VanderVeer, Noah VanderVeer, Alessa Smith, Wyatt Smith, Harper VanderVeer and Piper VanderVeer; her sister Susan "Doode" Langer (George); and her sister-in-law Mary Jane Docherty. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
