He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry G. Hess and Pearl Planutis Hess. He is survived by: his pet Bruno; his wife Barbara Lockett Hess; his daughter Rachel C. Churchman (Christopher); his siblings, Harry Gilbert Hess II (Jennifer) and Susan Driver (Dusty); and his brother-in-law Robert Lockett (Nancy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great Nephews, and cousins.
