Charles Prettyman, a resident of Columbus, NJ, and formerly of Hamilton Sq, NJ, was called into our Lord's Home peacefully on Monday March 27, 2023. He grew up & worked all his life in Trenton, NJ. He graduated Trenton Catholic High School in 1954 and an Assoc Degree in Data Processing from Mercer County College while employed there.

Chuck began his working career as a Plumber Apprentice beginning in 1954, for several years. He then became employed & worked with many friends & family members at Roebling Wire.
In 1969, Chuck began his long career serving Students & Staff at Mercer County College of West Windsor, NJ. Chuck Prettyman paved a path, and found his career path as not only a well respected Professor, Mentor to many, & President of the Professor's Emeritus Assoc. Chuck also was nominated year after year by his beloved students for the Teacher of the Year award for his never-ending patience, interactive teaching skills, & always had extra time, open office hours. Professor Prettyman was proud of MCCC, proud of his students, proud of his colleagues & always helping his students succeed in his class and beyond.

In 2002, Professor Prettyman, made the very difficult decision to retire from his teaching duties at MCCC. Chuck at this point, assumed the position of: President of the Professor's Emerieu Association.

Chuck Prettyman, Sr. is predeceased by his parents; Alice & Fred Prettyman, as well as his two brothers; Richard Prettyman (Gloria) of Ewing, NJ & William Prettyman, Sr (Jean) of Hamilton Sq, NJ

He is survived by his estranged Wife & Mother of his 3 Children, Irene Prettyman of Hamilton Sq, to whom he stayed very respectful & friendly. His 3 children; Grace Rarich (Robert) of Hopewell, NJ, Charles F. Prettyman JR. & (Julie) of Hamilton Sq, Florence Re of Hopewell, NJ, & His current Significant other & Ballroom Dance Partner, Suzanne Walker of Columbus, NJ. Chuck is also Survived by 9 Grandchildren & many Great Grandchildren, & special friends.

Chuck was loved & respected by all who was Blessed Enough to have Known him.
His favorite top Hobbies:
Philadelphia Eagles - since the 60's
Biking, Camping, Bird Watching, & traveling throughout the United States
BallRoom Dancing on a regular basis and also traveled to BYU in Utah with Dance Partner, Suzanne Walker.
We could go on & on, Chuck was many things to many people from Father to Friend, Teacher to Life Coach - But most importantly; Chuck was a devoted Catholic , Member & Deacon of St. Mary's Church in Bordentown. Chuck was also a generous contributor to the Hungarian Club, the Audubon Society, and many many other organizations.

At the family's request in lieu of flowers donation may be made in Chuck's name to the Professor Emeritus Assoc Scholarship Fund 1200 Old Trenton Road, AD 112 West Windsor, NJ 08550 or The American Hungarian Civic Assoc Scholarship Fund 300 Somerset St., New Brunswick, NJ 08901.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday April 4, 2023, 11:00am at Mary Mother of the Church Parish 45 Crosswicks St. Bordentown NJ 08505. Calling hours will be held on Monday evening from 6:00 ~ 8:00pm and Tuesday Morning 9:30-10:30 am at the Bordentown Home for funerals 40 Crosswicks St. Bordentown, NJ 08505. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamilton. NJ.
