He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter and Kathleen Griffin; his former wife Irene Griffin; his son Peter Griffin; his brother Dr. Thomas Griffin (Mary Ellen Rybak); and his brother-in-law Neil Begley Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen; his children, Kim Mahagan (Mike) of Armonk, NY, Allyson Marcus (Russ) of Fairfield, CT and Michael Griffin (Morgan) of York, PA; his stepsons, Nick James (Nicole) of Flowery Beach, GA and Tristan Scaglione (Vincent) of Kingston, NY.; his sisters, Kathleen McGuinness (Tom) of East Greenwich, RI, Marilyn Begley and NJ; and his grandchildren, Julia, Caroline, Jack, Bridget, Greg, Andrew, Gracyn, Lawson, Julian, Ashley, Vinny, Faith and Madelyn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
