She was predeceased by: her parents, Adolf Zieseniss and Lilyan Hofstetter; her half-sisters, Cornelia Zieseniss and Marie Zieseniss Eberle; her sister Julia "Judy" Zieseniss Curran; and her brother-in-law Leonard Musser.

She is survived by: her husband Robert J. Gassaway of Colts Neck; her children, Ronald J. Gassaway (Jean) of Freehold, Maria L. Weldon (Robert) of Westfield, Linda J. Gassaway (Shirley Jean Brown) of Kentucky and Debra A. White (Mark) of Hazlet; her siblings, Jane Zieseniss Musser of Pennsylvania and Adolf Zieseniss (Carol) of Florida; and her grandchildren, Evan, Ryan, Timothy, Sean, Sophia, Isabelle, Robert and Piper. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
