She was predeceased by: her husband Lee; her parents, Sue Farovitch and Samuel Paer; her brothers, Richard Paer and Ira Weiss; and her friends, Marvin Laba and Minnette Epter.
She is survived by: her pets, Penny, Chipper, Maggie, Sunnie and Lucie; her daughters, Marcie Ruth Horowitz and Ellen Horowitz; her granddaughter Star Goldstein; her brother John Paer; and her children-in-law, Margaret Maloney and Eddie Goldstein. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory can be made to the San Diego Wild Animal Park or any animal charity of your choice.
